The full size version (16' with 225 hp Mercury) has
been run at speeds in excess of 120 mph on the St. Johns river. At speeds in
excess of 80 mph the hull becomes airborne on a cushion of air leaving only
the propeller and skag in the water!
This design utilizes surface effects to create
lift and thereby reduces drag caused by surface tension.
Byrd’s Boats have
a high Quality Gel coat finish in red, white,
blue, violet, yellow,
orange, green, gray(for
painting it yourself) and multicolors w/fade.
Also Now offering
Metal flake and Metal flake fades.
Custom metal flake consist of 1 coat of clear gel, 1 coat of clear w/metal flake and base colors of
your choice. These parts are
hand laminated for consistency with polyester resin and fiberglass to the same exacting standards
as automotive fiberglass body parts.
Byrd's Boats are 100% fiberglass, there is no wood to rot or soak up water.

IMPBA legal for racing Tunnel class. With optional
Mono mod kit you will be able to race this hull in both Mono and Tunnel classes
with a 2 minute conversion.
